Target is the eighth-largest American retailer in the United States. In 1969, the first distribution center opened in Fridley, Minnesota. It lives up to its tagline, “Expect More, Pay Less,” and has found success as a low-cost, high-fashion player in the industry.

Everyone loves Target, but there could be various reasons why users want to delete their accounts. Some of them might be:

  1. Target users receive a slew of promotional emails regarding special offers, updates, and discounts from the company.
  2. Users want to cancel their subscriptions but don’t know how to delete their entire account.
  3. Users have moved to a new location where Target is no longer available.

How Do You Delete A Targeted Account?

Before deleting an account, it’s always a good idea to figure out its kind of Account. Here are some options you could have selected:

  • Target.com:

This is the official website where you can place orders for items.

  • RedCard Target:

We can only use the RedCard credit card in Target stores and online. You do not need to delete your Account to delete RedCard. Deleting or deactivating your RedCard is a distinct process.

  • Circle as a target:

Target Circle is a store-sponsored rewards program. Deleting your Account will also result in your Target Circle membership cancellation.

You can delete your account using one of three methods. We will investigate each of the solutions in-depth.

Through a Website

Deleting your Account is a complex process because there is no direct option available in the website’s user interface.

To delete the target account, follow the steps below:

  1. Enter your username and password at https://www.target.com/.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Help.”
  3. Select “Contact Us.”
  4. From the dropdown menu, choose “Target.com order experience.”
  5. Click the “Chat Now” button.
  6. A pop-up chat window will appear, with a personal assistant responding to your query.
  7. Request that your Account be deleted via the chat window. The screenshot below depicts an example of a conversation.

Note: Please keep in mind that once a customer service representative has disabled your account, it will take a few days to delete the Account from their databases. Although you will still be able to access it, you cannot perform any other operations with the disabled Account.

Through Email

When deleting your Account using this method, it takes slightly longer than described above.

  1. Navigate to https://www.target.com/ to sign in to the email account you registered with Target.
  2. You must compose an email and send it to guest.service@target.com.
  3. You can continue to use the Subject “REQUEST FOR ACCOUNT DELETION” or “HOTSTAR ACCOUNT DELETION.”
  4. In the email’s body, explain why you want to delete your Account and request it be deleted. I’ve included a sample template below.
